Use this lesson to talk about the topic of Diwali and festivals with secondary and adult learners of CEFR Level B1 and above.

Introduction

This lesson focuses on the topic of festivals. Learners will read a text about Diwali and then complete a series of comprehension tasks. Learners will then work to retell the legend of Diwali to their classmates. Finally, they will have an opportunity to make notes about a festival of their choice and tell the class about it. 

A student worksheet accompanies this lesson, or teachers can use a presentation for a no-printing option.
