thank you so much for your ideas Rob. I was just wondering how I could use powerpoint in my classes. Now I can't wait to learn how to master it.
PP in the classroom
I have used PP in the classroom for several years, and I consider it very practical, especially when you are teaching several classes of the same grade. It is a real nightmare to write same things on the blackboard for several times. :)
There are lot of activities for presenting, practising and revising vocabulary and grammar, by using the PP.
Activities my students like the best for revising are 'submarine' and 'reveal the picture', where there is a question behind every number. In 'submarine' they get more points if they find out submarine field and answer correctly, and in 'reveal the picture', by answwering correctly they reveal the part of the picture in the background.
All kinds of variations are applicable, such as number of questions, shipwreck - the group miss a turn, blured picture for revealing, etc.
And it is easy to learn necessary applications with almost basic computer skills. It needs time to practise, but every presentation takes less and less time for preparation.
Thank you for the tips, I find them very interesting and applicable.
Best,
Dragana
