Nik Peachey, Director of Pedagogy at PeacheyPublications, discusses some of the opportunities and issues around the recent controversial developments in artificial intelligence and their potential impact on language learning and teacher education. He draws on his recent research into ChatGPT and its applications within language teaching and suggests practical ways that both teachers and teacher educators can exploit the benefits of this new generation of AI technologies whilst being aware of its potential to disrupt many of the established norms that have been the mainstay of classroom education for centuries.

About the speaker

Nik Peachey is Director of Pedagogy at PeacheyPublications, an independent digital publishing and consultancy company that specialises in the design of digital learning materials for teachers and trainers. He has been involved in Education since 1990 as a teacher, trainer, educational consultant and project manager. He has more than 25 years experience of working specifically with online, remote and blended learning environments. He has worked all over the world training teachers and developing innovative and creative products. He is a two-time British Council ELTons Innovations award winner and has been shortlisted six times. His books include:

  • Team Building Activities for the Remote Classroom
  • Digital Tools for Teachers
  • Thinking Critically through Digital Media
  • Digital Video - A Manual for Language Teachers
  • Hacking Creativity

We only provide certificates for participants who join the webinar live. If you attended the webinar live, then you will have received the link to the certificate in the webinar chat, as well as a follow up e-mail with the certificate link. Can you check your spam folder to see if the e-mail went there?
