Comments

Thanks for your comment Ida. When we did the webinar it was in the height of the pandemic and we had been thrown into online teaching suddenly. I'm pleased that some of the activities/ways to work online endure.

Lesley Keast is an experienced teacher and her method of teaching includes practicals. Thus the lesson becomes very interesting for young school children. The British Council has given us great opportunity to meet great teachers online.

This topic is quite important for the practices, which should be reminded as one of the key points in our minds.

Usually, teachers and teacher educators have known many things of their fields. However, our childern didn't know those, even any... When online in practices, time is limited (sometimes depending on technology), there's long time 'No See' each other between teachers and students, and technology remotely isn't quite stable. Teachers, including myself, usually would like to highlight many points and at a faster rhythm. This made the situation complex to be understood.

The heart is kind: especially in COVID-19 time, that sometimes you might not know when the next time would be and how long we will actually meet in the real classroom...  However, it might the key points lost...

Therefore, 'Simple Teaching Ideas for Online Classes with Primary Children', and 'Taking some necessary ways', such as 'Important points listing first', 'focusing on solve one or two problems once', 'observing students' face-feedback', 'timing yourself', and 'copying  the framework immediately (especially for writing)'...

There were also many guides in the lecture... Hopefully, it works well for us...

Thank you Jason.  I liked your phrase 'The heart is kind' in the context that we do not know when (or if..) we will see our students in the classroom, so we have to embrace the current conditions and use it to have fun and learn with the children as if it doesn't matter.
