Taking place over 60 minutes, this discussion sees presentations from Chris Farrell, David Petrie, Peter Clements and Sarah Smith and leads into a participant-led discussion around the issues raised in the talks.
David Petrie is a teacher, teacher trainer and writer based in Coimbra, Portugal. His professional interests are in action research projects, teaching exam classes and using technology in teaching, which he writes about on his blog, teflgeek. More recently he has written an online teacher training course on action research which he also tutors on.
Pete Clements has taught in South Korea, Hungary, Spain, Vietnam and Thailand. He currently works in Bangkok for the British Council. He has a Trinity DipTESOL and an MSc in Reading, Language and Cognition. His interests include mentoring teachers and data-based teacher development. He is a regular contributor to industry magazines, and blogs at www.eltplanning.com
Sarah Smith has recently taught in Senegal, Japan, Ecuador, the UK, Turkey and is currently working for British Council in Bangkok. She has recently completed her DELTA local tutor training and is looking forward to getting started. She is interested in teacher training, experimenting with new approaches to teaching pronunciation and materials writing. She is a new contributor to Peter Clement’s blog www.eltplanning.com
Chris Farrell is Head of Teacher Development for the Centre of English Studies group, encompassing seven centres in Ireland and the UK. He holds an MA and a Cambridge Delta and he regularly speaks at International conferences on Teacher Development, Action Research, and the creation of individual Teacher Pathways.
