Anna Pires is a DELTA qualified teacher and has been teaching young learners, teenagers and adults for over 20 years. She is currently Assistant Director of Studies at International House Braga, where she has been working for 16 years. She regularly presents at APPI and gives seminars for state school teachers in Portugal. She enjoys working with teenagers and is always on the lookout for new ways to motivate them in the language classroom. |
Ceri Jones is a freelance teacher, trainer and materials writer. She has been working in ELT since 1986. She has worked in Italy, Hungary, Spain and the UK teaching, training and managing mainly in – and for – the private sector. She is particularly interested in student-centred materials and activities. In 1998 she received an MA in TEFL from Reading University and at the same time she started writing teaching materials. She has been involved in several coursebook series for Macmillan, Richmond and CUP as well as writing support materials for graded readers and authentic literary texts. |
Chia Suan Chong is a general and business English teacher and also runs teacher training courses such as the CELTA and the Cert IBET, in addition to cultural training courses. David Dodgson has worked with young learners in Ankara, Turkey for over ten years and recently completed an MA in Educational Technology and TESOL with the University of Manchester. David Petrie has been teaching for over 12 years, working in PR China and Poland before coming to Portugal in 2006 where he currently works as Senior Teacher for Adult and Exam classes for International House Coimbra. George Chilton started teaching English in 2007, when he moved to Wonju, South Korea and began teaching children of all ages. He then moved to Barcelona where he stayed for nearly 6 years, teaching, learning Spanish, and then working as an editor for Pearson Education. Ian James has been an English teacher for over 20 years. Originally from Cardiff, he now works at the Foreign Language Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Katherine Bilsborough is a teacher, trainer and author. She has been working in ELT since 1986 and is currently based in the mountains of northern Spain. She has written course books and materials for OUP, Macmillan, Richmond and others. Katherine writes regularly for the TeachingEnglish website and she has created materials for many of the British Council’s online courses. Kieran Donaghy is a teacher, teacher trainer and writer who works at UAB Idiomes Barcelona. He has Master’s degree in ELT and Business Communication. He is particularly interested in the use of film in language teaching, and he is the co-author of Films in Health Sciences Education. Kyle Mawer is an award winning digital play expert, blogger, author of the teacher development book ‘Digital Play’ and international presenter on the use of video games in ELT. Paul Driver is a language teacher, researcher, teacher trainer, graphic designer and illustrator living in Oxford, UK. Until recently, he was lecturing at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in northern Portugal.
