Introduction
In this integrated skills lesson, pupils will learn about the illegal pet trade in Brazil. Pupils begin by guessing the answers to some questions about animal trafficking. Next, they read and find the answers in three short articles, written by: (a) a police officer, (b) an animal trafficker, (c) a vet from an animal rescue centre. Finally, learners work in groups and hold a discussion about crimes and punishments, using the vocabulary and ideas from the texts as well as their own ideas.
