About the speakers

Zanele Mukwedeya is a Programme Manager, based in Zimbabwe, with more than 25 years' experience leading large education and governance projects at national, regional and international levels, focused on capacity building for teachers, school leaders and policy makers. Through programmes such as Connecting Classrooms, Instructional Leadership and Leading Learning for Gender Equality, Zanele provides training for a 1,000 school leaders per year, managing 40 facilitators and convening training workshops across the region. Zanele has considerable Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) experience, working with the University of Nottingham on the comprehensive M&E programme for the Leading Learning for Gender Equality programme.

Rishikesh Shanker is a Professor and Associate Director at the School of Education, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, India. With 25 years of experience in research and teaching, he began his career as a teacher educator, showcasing innovative pedagogical practices and researching teaching and learning in schools. He has been associated with the Azim Premji Foundation for nearly two decades, conducting research in education. Currently, he teaches in the master’s programme at Azim Premji University and his research interests include educational policies, learner assessments, and teacher education. He has contributed to India’s National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework. A regular writer on educational policy, he is dedicated to making laws and policies accessible to everyone.Supporting material for this webinar

How to watch the webinar

Our webinars are free.

They take place in Zoom Events. You do not need any special equipment to watch the webinars apart from a computer with the audio on. Registration is for the full event - you do not need to attend every session.

Instructions for joining a session in the event

  1. Click on the link that was emailed to you when you registered for the event.
  2. Enter the email address that you used to register for the event.
  3. If requested, introduce the passcode that was emailed to you when you registered for the event.
  4. You will join the 'lobby'. From the lobby you can chat to other participants. 
  5. From the lobby you will see the session that is either currently live or soon to be live. When a session is live, you can click 'join' to watch the live session.
Webinar recordings

All TeachingEnglish webinars are recorded and available to watch on demand between 24 and 48 hours after the live webinar has ended. Certificates

  • At the end of the feedback survey once you have answered the questions.

Where possible, we will make a PDF copy of the presentation available for you to download. However, for copyright reasons, this may not always be allowed. Please visit the same webinar page on TeachingEnglish after the event, where the PDF will be published, if permitted.
