English Connects Action Research: Learnings from the African classroom

Watch a recording of this TeachingEnglish Africa webinar looking at action research in the African classroom.

About the webinar

The English Connects Action Research project started in 2021 to support and mentor English teachers in Sub-Saharan Africa to carry out their own action research projects. In 2022, a second cohort of teachers from Sudan, Nigeria and Ethiopia reflected and proposed solutions for their classroom issues through exploratory action research.

This webinar will provide a description of the project and most importantly, showcase the 19 projects carried out. These research projects focused on various topics such as promoting speaking practice, managing mixed and large classes, improving reading comprehension, and developing writing among others. Participants will explain the focus of their study, their methods for data collection and key findings. They will also share the action plan implemented and the impact this had in their classrooms.

Recorded on 18 June 2022
