Helping your students become independent learners

Watch a recording of this webinar with Ben Knight.

About the webinar

What are the skills your students need to develop to become better at learning independently?  We will look at four areas of essential skills.  Firstly, how do they plan and organise their learning?  Secondly, what are effectively learning habits and strategies, and how can your students develop the ones that work best for them?  Thirdly, what can they do to maintain motivation when learning at home?  And finally, how can they become better at monitoring and evaluating their own learning?  For each area, we will look at what is really needed, and go through some practical learning activities that you can use with your students to help them develop those skills.

why is it always all teh learning activities are center to a group work or peer activities as if there wouldn´t individual learning. I would like to promote self learning without group activities.

How long does it last? I have only a one-hour break before my next classes, will it have finished by 2 p.m.?

Hi Monika

Yes, the webinars usually last around an hour - depending on how many questions people have at the end! In any case, it's not a problem if you have to disconnect before the end.

Thanks,
Cath
