Building on a previous British Council ELTRA project (Galloway et al., 2017) in East Asia, this research provides insights into EMI policy in these contexts, the driving forces behind EMI, how it is implemented and the attitudes of core stakeholders towards this growing trend. The study has important implications for HE entrance requirements, language support, teacher recruitment and training, EMI curricula, language use, EMI and educational access and equity, and research-informed policy.
