About the seminar
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and British Council’s Bilingual Education Programme and the 80th anniversary of the British Council in Spain, educators, policy makers and education experts were invited to an online seminar: Empowering Transformational Change
D. Alejandro Tiana Ferrer, Secretary of State for Education and Mark Howard, Director of the British Council in Spain reflected and debated on the past, present and future impact the MEFP-British Council Bilingual Programme in Spain and its role in changing the landscape of bilingual education in Spain.
This was be followed by two plenary sessions focused on the transformational power of education:
Lucy Crehan, International Education Consultant, examined and share the policies and strategies which high-performing and equitable education systems implement to support successful educational outcomes.
Professor Zahir Irani, University of Bradford, also discussed how educational institutionscan successfully engage in the economic regeneration and development of their local communitiesfocusing on the case study of University of Bradford.
