About the panel

This will be a panel event, with speakers from around the world, followed by questions from the audience.

Susie Rodgers MBE is a successful former professional Paralympic swimmer who competed at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, winning six medals across both Games including gold and 5 bronze medals. In total, she has won 30 international medals throughout her career at all levels, including 17 gold. Susie has a First Class honours from Newcastle University in Modern Languages, holds a postgraduate diploma from the Financial Times in Non-Executive Director leadership and studied a course on leadership at IESE business school in Spain, recently completing courses in sustainability at Stanford in 2020 and in global leadership at Harvard Kennedy School in 2021. Susie is an expert adviser for global clients on disability inclusion and currently works for the UK Government in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office as a Technical Adviser on Disability Inclusion. She also worked previously for the British Council; working with young people on educational programmes across different countries. Susie was awarded an MBE (2017) for services to Paralympic sport by Her Majesty the Queen. You can follow Susie on Twitter here.

Nick Moon is Associate Headteacher at Bishop Challoner Catholic College in Birmingham, where he has taught since 2006 following his PGCE at Birmingham University. Bishop Challoner is a mixed comprehensive faith school in Kings Heath, a few miles from Birmingham City Centre. They have 1200 students on roll inclusive of Sixth Form and within PE offer GCSE, A-Level, BTEC Sport and OCR National courses for Key Stage 3 & 4 cohorts. The College was one of the first Sports Colleges nationally in 2000 and has continued its' outward facing perspective as the current SGO hub site for the area. In addition, they work with 30 primary schools through their PE and Sport Premium Programme and 68 secondary schools through the Sport England Teacher Training Approach Project across the West Midlands. As Director of Study for PE and Community Sport, Nick is responsible for overseeing these programmes across the wide community of schools, ensuring that students are provided with the best experiences possible in PE and Sport.

Mpuuja Tom Mutebi is a Sports Director and Head of the Sports department at the Aga Khan Education Services Uganda and a Physical Education instructor at the Aga Khan High School. He has over 30 years’ experience teaching both national and international curricula. The Aga Khan Education Service Uganda is part of a global network of organisations that work towards improving quality of life in areas of Africa and Asia. Tom has extensive knowledge of the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Physical Education programmes for ages 11-19, which he has taught for the last eleven years. Alongside teaching, he is a holder of a Level III FIVB Volleyball Coaches and Instructor’s Certificate and is a part-time Lecturer at Kyambogo University Faculty of Science.
