About the webinar
Over the last year, a small group of primary English teachers from Gaza have been working with a researcher to reflect on and discuss their professional identity as teachers. This is a panel discussion with the research participants, showcasing their perspectives on the following questions:
- What is the role of English in this community?
- What are the key influences which affect how these teachers perceive themselves and how they are perceived by others?
- What are the barriers to teachers achieving their own goals?
- What are the broader implications for teacher development?
The discussion will cover topics such as citizenship and values, student wellbeing and trauma, teacher wellbeing and trauma, relationships with parents, relationships with teachers, principals and school staff, dealing with politics and policy and participating in professional development.
