What is this webinar about?
In this webinar four experienced teacher educators discuss their different roles, the skills they have developed and the career pathways they have followed to get to where they are today.
Discover the specific skills and understanding required for a range of teacher education initiatives in a variety of settings:
- Leading engagement on our Pathway Builder programme with Sirin Soyoz from Turkey.
- Facilitating Teacher Activity Groups across different regions with Radhika Gholkar from India.
- E-moderating the Assured Certificate in Teacher Education training program with Ann Armstrong from Malaysia.
- Facilitating a Community of Practice for teachers involved in project-related collaborative output with Doina Fleanta from Romania.
At the end of the webinar, our audience of teacher educators should have gained practical strategies, valuable insights, and actionable steps to enhance their professional and career development.

About the speakers
Sirin Soyoz is based in Istanbul, Turkey and is an English teacher, teacher educator, and e-moderator with the British Council. She specialises in e-learning and teacher education. Pursuing a PhD, her research interests involve the community of practice, research mentoring, and artificial intelligence.
Radhika Gholkar is Head Academic, English Programmes with the British Council in India. She leads on teacher development projects in partnership with state governments and research across the education sectors. She has substantial experience of teaching English both face-to-face and online. She is particularly interested in the potential of using the community of practice model for teachers’ professional growth.
Ann Armstrong is a teacher educator based in Malaysia. She started teaching in 1988, has been involved in teacher education since 2009, an e-moderator from 2014 and an Assured Certificate in Teacher Education (ACTE) Moderator / Assessor since 2022. She holds a Master of Education in Language and Literacy and the Diploma for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Doina Fleanta is based in Brasov, Romania and has been a teacher for over 40 years; a mentor for over 30 years; a methodologist for 28 years; an e-moderator for 10 years and has worked with learners, teachers and teacher educators on all continents.
