Elena Ončevska Ager, Diana Morbedadze, Janet Ayoub, Silvia Rettaroli, Sirin Soyoz and Zhakhanova Zarina share some fascinating insight and outputs from their teacher educator community of practice on AI. Join us to find out more about (i) how to set up and maintain a dynamic CoP – process, learning points, motivation and good practice; and (ii) the collection of collaborative outputs from the CoP - practical guidance, resources and considerations for harnessing the power of AI in teacher education.

About the speakers
Elena Ončevska Ager is Full Professor in Applied Linguistics at Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. She supports the development of pre-/in-service English language teachers, in face-to-face and online contexts. Research interests revolve around language teacher education, with a focus on quality teacher mentoring, and helping it become widely available. Elena is co-founder of Noticing (about.noticing.network), an AI-backed web-based facilitator of mentoring practices – assistant to both teachers and mentors. Elena’s other research interests include group dynamics, motivation, learner/teacher agency and wellbeing. Her investigations are designed in ways which inform her practice of supporting learning and teaching. elena.oncevska@flf.ukim.edu.mk
Diana Morbedadze is an EFL teacher-educator, researcher, British Council OTC Facilitator, mentor-teacher (2010-2014), teacher-trainer, and T4 Education ambassador. She has published in international journals and is the author and leader of various projects, including international ones. Her favourite project involves mindset shifts. Diana loves working with interesting people who have bright ideas. She constantly enhances her professional skills and acquires new competences. She is also a resource creator (2011 Best Resource Writer, Georgia) and has created a number of different e-resources. Now, she has moved to another stage of creativity with AI.
Janet Ayoub is a Full Professor at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Branch 4. She is a national trainer and counselor, providing guidance to Masters and Ph.D. students. Additionally, she is an e-moderator with the British Council and a national trainer at the Center for Educational Research and Development. Her publications include books and articles on educational innovation, critical discourse analysis, and teacher challenges. Her work focuses on advancing educational practices and supporting professional development.
Silvia Rettaroli is a teacher of English, teacher educator and curriculum and materials designer based in Argentina. In a career spanning over 40 years, she has worked for different ministries of Education in curriculum design, large-scale examinations and in the design and coordination of teacher training/education programmes. As a British Council moderator, she has worked with teachers and teacher educators from different contexts and situations. Her areas of interest include bilingual education, professional development, FLs assessment and materials and curriculum design.
Sirin Soyoz is an English teacher and teacher educator specialising in e-learning, teacher education, and online community building. Currently an E-moderator and Community Manager for the British Council, she has held various roles in British Council projects worldwide since 2008. She is pursuing her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, and her research interests include artificial intelligence in education, communities of inquiry, communities of practice and exploratory action research.
Zhakhanova Zarina is a PhD candidate, MA and an experienced professional in the field of education, with a specialization in language teaching and teacher training. Zarina is also experienced in researching new language teaching methods, managing classroom crises, and collaborating with teaching staff and administrators to ensure a positive student experience.

They take place in Zoom Events. You do not need any special equipment to watch the webinars apart from a computer with the audio on. Registration is for the full event - you do not need to attend every session.

Instructions for joining a session in the event
- Click on the link that was emailed to you when you registered for the event.
- Enter the email address that you used to register for the event.
- If requested, introduce the passcode that was emailed to you when you registered for the event.
- You will join the 'lobby'. From the lobby you can chat to other participants.
- From the lobby you will see the session that is either currently live or soon to be live. When a session is live, you can click 'join' to watch the live session.
- Webinar recordings
All TeachingEnglish webinars are recorded and available to watch on demand between 24 and 48 hours after the live webinar has ended. - Certificates
