Integrating ICT – group study guide

This group study guide for teachers and teacher educators looks at integrating ICT.

Lucy Norris

This study guide forms part of a series, in which teachers will find useful theory and practice for teaching English effectively, including short case studies and professional development activities to do individually and with colleagues.

Featuring a range of engaging and accessible activities, the guides help teachers to:

  • identify areas for development
  • find a variety of ways to improve their teaching knowledge
  • develop the skills they need in and out of the classroom.

Teacher educators can make use of these materials to work with developing teachers to help assess and address their learning needs.

Each guide covers one of the professional practices in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework for teachers and is based on research into what effective professional development involves.

In this guide, you will look at:

  • developing effective strategies for locating appropriate digital content
  • evaluating digital content, tools and platforms
  • following guidelines for e-safety
  • using technology in the production of teaching and learning materials
  • promoting autonomous learning by exploiting digital content and technologies
  • promoting collaborative and participatory learning by exploring online communities, tools and platforms.

The publications are free to download in pdf format.

Thanks a lot for sharing this important blog for us. As educators we constantly need some sparkling ideas to upgrade our lessons and in this occasion is thanks to the technological resources which invite us to incorporate in our daily classes. I feel so grateful to British Council.
